Travel

Most delegates travelling to the conference will arrive at Glasgow International Airport (GLA). This lies just west of the city, on the banks of the River Clyde. The M8 Motorway provides a direct link between the airport and the City of Glasgow allowing easy road access into the city.

The easiest transport option is to take a taxi, which are available from the taxi rank outside the main terminal building. This will take you directly from the airport to the venue or your hotel for approximately &pound20.

First Group runs an Airport bus service which goes through the West End of the city close to the University. A bus service run by Scottish Citylink is also available from the bus stops outside the terminal. This will take you to Buchanan Bus Station in the City Centre. An additional taxi, subway or bus journey may then be required to reach your hotel if it is not in the city centre.

Prestwick International Airport (PIK) is 30 miles from Glasgow city centre and serves as a hub for the budget airline Ryan Air. Travel time from Prestwick into Glasgow is 40 minutes by direct train to Central Station.

If you are travelling by train then you will arrive at Glasgow Central Station, unless travelling from the North, or from Edinburgh on First ScotRail in which case you will arrive at Queen Street Station. There is a taxi rank outside Central Station on Gordon Street.

Getting Around Glasgow

The easiest way to get around Glasgow is on the Subway. A Station Map is available from the SPT web site.

Regular bus services are also provided by a number of operators in Glasgow. The largest service is offered by First Bus.
