SIGHTSEEING TOUR OF ATHENS

This
tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a
fascinating city. Our expert guide take you to see the center of the city, Constitution
square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the National
Library. Driving down Herod Atticus street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque
uniform and the Presidential Palace. On your way to the Acropolis, you will see the
Panathenaikon Stadium (where the first Olympic games of the modern era were held in 1896),
the Temple of Olympian Zeus Theater of Dionyssos, Hadrians Arch, (visit), On the
Acropolis visit its Museum and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens,
the Propylea, the Temple of Athina Nike, the Erechteion and finally the harmony between
material and spirit, the monument that puts order in the mind, the PARTHENON.. COST

Leave
by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean
Sea with the Ioanian Sea. (Short stop). Drive on to Mycenae, the Homeric city of the
Atreides, the city rich in gold of the Ancient poets.( Visit the Lions Gate, the
Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs etc.) Depart for Nafplion through the fertile plain of
Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty
ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress. After lunch leave for Epidaurus to visit the Theatre
(4th Century BC) famous for its astonishing acoustics. Return to Athens by the National
road connecting Epidaurus with Corinth. COST

FULL DAY TO DELPHI - WITH LUNCH
Drive
through the fertile plain of Boetia, crossing the towns of Thebes connected with the
tragedy of King Oedipus, Levadia and Arachova, famous for its colorful rugs and carpets
(short stop). Arrive at Delphi, the centre of the Ancient world the « Omphalos »
(navel) of the Earth, whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic
world. On the slope of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty,
lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the treasury of the Athenians, the
Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture
and bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch, In the modern village of
Delphi, return to Athens. COST

a.m. Transfer by motorcoach from Athens to Flisvos Marina and embark on the cruise ship.
8.30 a.m. Sail for the island of HYDRA. In
Hydra you have time at leisure for strolling, shopping or swimming. In the early afternoon
sail for the island of AEGINA, passing through
the narrow strait separating the Peloponnesian coast from the island of POROS. Lunch is served after sailing. Short visit
of Poros. Upon arrival in Aegina you can either join the excursion to the Temple of Aphaia
(optional ) or walk around the main town. Finally, re-embark for the sail back to
Flisvos Marina. 7.15 p.m. Arrival at Flisvos Marina and transfer to your hotel. COST PER PERSON: 63 EUR (including lunch) |
